Observing our local birds offers the perfect invitation to connect with Ojai wildlife, learn about the science of birds and explore local natural areas.

In Birds of the Ojai Valley, students will learn the basics of bird ecology and field identification through informative lectures and birding adventures. Lecture sessions will introduce the evolution of flight, bird habitat and diet, migration and biogeography. Bird conservation and the role of citizen science will also be presented.

Field trips will focus on visual and auditory bird identification skills, birding equipment and note taking. We will go on birding adventures to local parks and natural areas around the Ojai and Ventura.
